Curate Thyself: You Are What You Consume (And How to Take Control) In today’s world brimming with an endless array of sensory input and information, the simple adage “ You are what you eat ” takes on a far deeper meaning—one that goes beyond the physical food on our plates to encompass everything we allow to nourish our minds, hearts, and spirits. What we consume mentally, emotionally, and socially becomes the very fabric of who we are.  Too often, we are advised to “be yourself” as if the self were a fixed, unchanging essence carved in stone. Yet, as the pioneering psychologist Carl Jung insightfully observed, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, you will be directed by the unconscious, and you will call it fate.” We are always consuming—whether information, relationships, or emotional experiences—and these inputs continuously shape the evolving landscape within us.
